D Scribe is all about sharing the ups and downs of life with diabetes and how D Sharp Mobile Diabetes Management is here to help make that life a little easier.

I’ve learned many things since I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2004, including how to manage pregnancy, breastfeeding, insulin pump use and an active lifestyle. My dad was type 1 and suffered many complications. My mom has type 2 and I have many family members and friends trying their best to get ahead of this disease.

I’m not a healthcare professional. I don’t pretend to be, though I was once mistaken for one by a med student while explaining my pump.

I’ve come to be a bit of diabetes geek. I take an active interest in it and I want to share what I’ve learned. I just ask that you always check with your doctor or diabetes educator before trying something new. What worked for me may not be right for you. Diabetes is a complex disease and sometimes this disease has a way of outsmarting my best attempts at controlling it.
